Arsenal Injury Update Ahead Of The Match Against Bournemouth

This is the latest injury update for Arsenal

After four straight wins in all competitions, Arsenal were one of the teams in the Premier League that experience obstacles during the October international break.

Mikel Arteta’s side went on an unbeaten run to start their title challenge at the start of the season, but the break has created unnecessary fitness issues. Arteta is hoping for positive news from his medical team as the Gunners prepare for a busy schedule of fixtures between now and the November international break.

Here are Arsenal’s latest injury updates:

BUKAYO SAKA (HAMSTRINGS

Arsenal fans watched anxiously as Bukayo Saka limped off the pitch during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece during the international break. The winger missed England’s win over Finland with a thigh injury after 52 minutes.
Although the injury does not appear to be serious, Lee Carsley said Saka is “close” to a return to action and the Gunners are assessing their star player ahead of this weekend’s game. Given Sakha’s physical condition, he is unlikely to be out for long. Possible Return: Bournemouth (home) – 24/10/19

GABRIEL MARTINELLI (MUSCLES)

Gabriel Martinelli was also injured during the international break, suffering a muscle strain while playing for Brazil in their World Cup qualifier against Chile. The forward will miss Brazil’s next game, with a team statement revealing he suffered a slight swelling in his calf muscle. Martinelli is a doubt, although his return against Bournemouth is unclear.

KAI HAVERTZ (KNEE)

Despite an excellent start to the season for Arsenal, Havertz has been ruled out of Germany’s squad with a knee injury. The striker is still believed to be available for the match against Bournemouth, although Arteta is expected to provide an update on his condition in his pre-match press conference. Possible return: Bournemouth (home) – 19/10/24

MARTIN ODEGAARD (ANKLE)

The Arsenal captain has been sidelined since injuring his ankle during a UEFA Nations League match in Norway in September. Arteta described the injury as “serious” and ruled out a return date for Odegaard, making his immediate availability uncertain. Possible returns: unknown

THOMAS PARTEY (ILLNESS)

Partey’s absence from the Ghana national team has sparked concern among Arsenal fans, but reports suggest the midfielder is more likely to be ill than injured. Partey is expected to be fit for the game against Bournemouth. Possible return: Bournemouth (home) – 19/10/24

BEN WHITE (GROIN)

White missed four games after being ruled out of the 2-2 draw with Manchester City through injury. Despite his imminent return during the international break, he was still not ready. However, White expects to return this weekend after taking some time off.
Possible return: Bournemouth (home) – 19/10/24

JURIEN TIMBER (MUSCLE)

Timber came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s 2-0 Champions League win over PSG with a muscle injury and missed the next Premier League game against Southampton. Despite the concerns, he could play for the game against Bournemouth. Possible return: Bournemouth (home) – 19/10/24

KIERAN TIERNEY (HAMSTRING)

Tierney’s recurring injury problems continue, with the left-back picking up a thigh injury in Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Switzerland. Due to limited playing time this season, his return date is not yet known.

TAKEHIRO TOMIYASU (KNEE)

Tomiyasu reportedly suffered another knee injury that sidelined him for most of the previous season. He could now be out for another month after making a brief return in Arsenal’s game against Southampton.
Possible returns: unknown

ALEXANDER ZINCHENKO (CALF)

Zinchenko, who has not played since the international break due to a calf injury last September, has played just one game this season. He is still a few weeks away from fitness until the end of September but is expected to return against Bournemouth. Possible return: Bournemouth (home) – 24/10/19

Arsenal’s depth will be tested as they manage a growing injury list, but Arteta will be hoping to maintain the team’s strong form in the coming matches.
