Chelsea Young Youngstar Has Signed A Professional Contract
Chelsea Football Club have secured the signature of the youngster Shamuira Mheuka. He has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Mheuka, known as Shim, turned 17 earlier this week on October 20. He is now a full member of the Chelsea squad and can participate in all competitions. The contract announcement comes a day after he was included in Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad for the Conference League stage matches against Panathinaikos.
Mheuka moved from the regular Under-18 team to Felipe Coehlo’s Under-21 side last season. He scored 3 goals this season so far.
During the international break, Mheuka was called up to the England Under-19 squad where he impressed everyone.
At Brighton, where Chelsea signed him in 2022, Muka played against Chelsea in the Under-17 Cup aged 13. He was part of the impressive under-18 side that won the Premier League South Division last season but lost in the final to Manchester United. He scored 12 goals in 20 games during the season.
Playing for a strong development squad that saw David Washington, who was on loan from League One club Bristol Rovers last season, and 21-year-old Harvey Vale signed for £17million, Mheuka kept more than his possessions.
Although only 16 at the time, he played with the senior team in pre-season and the EFL Cup.
