Grigor Dimitrov advances to the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters with a tough win over Artur Rinderknech
Grigor Dimitrov has reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 Rolex Paris Masters, an ATP Masters 1000 Tour hard-court tennis tournament with €6.5 million in prize money.
The no.8 seed from Bulgaria and a finalist last season, recorded a stunning 6-2, 4-6 7-6(5) win on Thursday night over France’s Arthur Rinderknech who had received a wild card.
Dimitrov, 33, earned his third career win in three matches against Rinderknech. Their current world rankings are 9th and 60th respectively.
Dimitrov will meet Paris Masters 2018 winner Karen Khachanov in the quarter-finals. The Russian beat Australia’s Alexei Popyrin 7-6(5) 6-4 on Thursday.
Dimitrov claimed his fourth career win against the 28-year-old Khachanov, who is ranked 21st in the world.
