Arsenal Star Leaves National Team Early Through Injury

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has been ruled out of Italy’s training camp after picking up an injury during Friday night’s 3-1 win over France. Calafiori’s injury occurred when Ousmane Dembele landed on his ankle after the win.

Calafiori’s teammates immediately became concerned and immediately notified the physical therapist. The medical staff took the opportunity to take him off the field and Italy went ahead 3-1.

After the match, Italy coach Luciano Spalletti tried to calm concerns by addressing the situation. “We have to assess Riccardo, but with our personnel there is a good chance we can get him back for the next game,” Spalletti said.

However, Calafiori has now left the Italian camp and returned to London to undergo further tests by Arsenal’s medical team.

The news of Calafiori’s injury is frustrating for Arsenal, especially as they prepare to face Tottenham after the international break in the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the injury is not serious.

The Gunners are already struggling with numerous injuries. Declan Rice will miss the game through suspension after picking up a red card against Brighton, while Mikel Merino picked up a shoulder injury in Arsenal’s first training session.

Manager Mikel Arteta said of Merino’s injury: “Unfortunately he had a collision and injured his shoulder. He’ll probably be gone for a few weeks. “He was very excited to join us and it’s disappointing to see him fail.”
