David Ornstein delivers transfer blow to Arsenal fans

Arsenal are actively searching for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window following long-term injuries to key forwards Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

Reliable journalist David Ornstein has provided crucial updates on the club’s transfer plans, with two high-profile strikers—Dusan Vlahovic and Benjamin Šeško—emerging as potential targets.

The Gunners have been hit hard by injuries, with Saka sidelined since December and expected to return in March, while Gabriel Jesus suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club’s intent to strengthen the squad, stating, “We have lost two massive players in attack, and we need some support there.”

Reports suggest Arsenal have reignited their interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, whom Arteta has admired since the player’s time at Fiorentina. The 24-year-old Serbian was previously a target for the Gunners before his move to Juventus in January 2022.

Italian outlets Tuttosport and Calciomercato claim Juventus are open to selling Vlahovic, whose contract expires in 2025, with an asking price of approximately £50 million. There are also suggestions that Arsenal are exploring a loan move for the 6’3″ forward.

However, Ornstein has downplayed these reports, stating that “Vlahovic is a player that Arsenal are not particularly hot on.”

Arsenal have also reportedly opened discussions with RB Leipzig over a potential deal for Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško. According to Sam C Reports, Arsenal are negotiating a loan deal with an option to buy, though Leipzig are pushing for a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.

Šeško, 21, has been a long-standing target for Arsenal and has impressed in the Bundesliga with 30 goals in 66 appearances. Additionally, he has significant international experience, earning 39 caps for Slovenia.

Arteta is believed to have spoken directly with Šeško as part of the club’s pursuit, but David Ornstein has tempered expectations, describing a January deal as “unlikely,” with a summer move being more feasible.

With the centre-forward position proving problematic, Arsenal’s search for a reliable goalscorer continues. Arteta has tried alternative options like Kai Havertz, but the team remains in need of a natural striker.
