Emmaunel Petit Thinks This Chelsea Player Is Not World Class Yet

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has downplayed the hype for Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer has received many accolades since last season and has already won many awards. However, the 22-year-old put in a poor performance against Liverpool as Chelsea lost 2-1 to the Reds.

For Emmanuel Petit, Cole Palmer is not yet world-class. He was asked if the poor performance against a big club had affected the 22-year-old’s success, Petit said: “No, I don’t think so”.

“Palmer had a very good last season, but he had a bad start to this one and showed himself well in September.

“There is a lot of media hype around young talented players.

“Palmer is very good, but he is not yet a top international player – that is the level he needs to reach.

“He shows promising skills, maturity, and individual qualities, but to be honest, he hasn’t achieved anything yet and is far from world-class at the moment.”

Despite winning numerous individual awards since last season, Petit still thinks Palmer is not world-class yet. This would leave many Chelsea fans baffled.
