Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca spoke to the media after his side’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday night.
Maresca managed to include the new loanee Jadon Sancho in his squad for the first time though the winger initially occupied a place on the bench.
Sancho, who arrived from Manchester United came on as a half-time substitute at the Vitality Stadium.
In the first half, the Blues were unlucky to draw 0-0 after Evanilson’s opener was canceled out by a Robert Sanchez penalty.
The second half was even better with the arrival of the England winger and he eventually assisted team-mate Christopher Nkunku’s winning goal after four minutes.
“Jadon has helped us a lot,” Maresca said.
“What he did tonight was what we expected from him. I know Jadon well because I’ve seen him a few times and I know what he can give us. I am very happy for him. He was very good”.
“I think Joao [Felix] was very good and Christopher Nkunku who also scored, was also very good,” he added.
“The reason why Christopher played at that time was because I think we created a chance but we lacked quality in the penalty area. The idea of using him as a number 9 is that he is a good player in the penalty area with every ball and we know he can decide [the game], but we are all happy with that”
Chelsea fans are very happy for Jadon Sancho as he also won the Man of the Match on his debut.
