Enzo Maresca Speaks On His First Choice Striker
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has a talented strikers and competition for the top 9 place is fierce.
Nkunku has been prolific in cup competitions, while Jackson is a regular striker in the Premier League. Enzo Maresca said the pair are important to the squad but Nicolas Jackson remains first choice striker.
When asked about his first choice striker and if he has a plan to make a change:
“We know he’s important to us,” Enzo Maresca said of Jackson.
“He Does a great job on the ball – scores goals, assists, communicates with his teammates. When he doesn’t have the ball, he works hard, presses the way we press, and works brilliantly with us.
“We have Christopher [Nkunku]. It will help us because the season is very long. We have a lot of matches and sometimes the game plan can be different. Maybe more so for Christopher than for Nico. “We also have young talent, so we can choose,” he added.
Nkunku has scored 8 goals in all competitions so far but only 1 of the 8 comes from the Premier League against Bournemouth. However, Jackson scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 8 league games.
