“He Doesn’t Look Happy” — Chelsea Former Player Glenn Hoddle Breaks Silence On Chelsea Player
Former Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle does not believe Christopher Nkunku is “happy at Chelsea” and believes he could leave the club in January.
The French international signed a £52m deal from RB Leipzig to Chelsea. Nkunku was highly anticipated by Leipzig after his impressive performances in Germany where he scored 58 goals in the last two seasons. Last season, Nkunku suffered a string of injuries, scoring three goals in 14 games in his first season at the club.
The Frenchman has been in very good form this season but is now behind Nicolas Jackson and has only started one league game so far this season. Nkunku has been on the bench a lot in the Premier League and Glenn Hoddle believes he will be unhappy in that role
Nkunku scored from the spot kick in the match against Panathinaikos in the Conference League match played on Thursday 24th October. Meanwhile, his face was do cold and didn’t look happy that he was reminded by Enzo Fernandez to do his Balloon celebration.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Hoddle said of Nkunku:
“When I look at Chelsea’s forwards, I think Nkunku would be more clinical than Nicolas Jackson if he had the same time on the pitch and had his chances so far this season.
“Jackson is improving and getting more confident, he has the manager’s faith and backing right now.
“Whether Nkunku is going to be happy… he might be one that will think he needs to leave come January if this is still happening.”
However, it is still not clear what the Frenchman could be thinking about his future. The January transfer would surely unveil a lot going on behind the doors.
