“He Is Getting Better” — Enzo Praises Chelsea Player After The Win Against The Greek Club

The Blues beat Gent 4-2 in the first leg and travel to Athens in Greece for the second leg.

The west Londoners comfortably beat Panathinaikos 4-1 with the goals scored by Christopher Nkunku, Mudryk, and Joao Felix’s brace.

Mudryk has failed to cement a permanent place in Chelsea’s first team since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5m in January 2023. The Ukrainian signing has been heavily criticized as he struggles to impress with his performances.

However, he scored 1 goal and 2 assists against Panathinaikos. He assisted Joao Felix’s first goal in the 22nd minute of the game. He also found the back of the net a few minutes into the second half and assisted Felix’s second goal in the 55th minute.

Mudryk’s performance drew praise from Maresca, who was delighted with the 23-year-old’s goal in Greece. Speaking to reporters after the match, the Italian coach said (as quoted by Fabrizio Romano on X):

“I’m very happy to see Mudryk there, in that position, and scoring that goal”.

When asked about Mudryk’s Improvement, he added:

“Mhykailo’s learning process is slower than other wings, but he’s getting better.”

Enzo Maresca praised the Chelsea players after the win over Panathinaikos. He spoke highly of another Chelsea star following his side’s win over Panathinaikos.

The Italian Coach praised Renato Veiga’s versatility. The 21-year-old defender, who has been used primarily as a left-back this season, was used as a center-back against Panathinaikos. He has also played as a midfielder during his active career and has shown his skills as a midfielder. After the match, Maresca (via The Mirror) said of Veiga:

“Renato, I just said to him inside the changing room, he has played as a centre-back, full-back, holding midfielder, attacking midfielder.”

Maresca went on to praise Chelsea’s entire squad, noting the players’ positional flexibility.

“I said I like Chelsea because a lot of the players can be versatile. It’s good for the team and good for the players. I don’t think it’s enough if you only play one position. “You have to learn how to play more positions.”

Meanwhile, The Blues face Newcastle United in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (October 27).
