Man United vs Chelsea: Jose Mourinho drops his honest prediction.
Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that Chelsea are on course to win at Old Trafford and believes his former club are ahead of Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho speaking to SportPod, highlighted:
“It’s very difficult, but I think Chelsea are favourites [against Manchester United] because of the way they are playing at the moment. “I think they are 12 months ahead of what they planned to be.”
“But despite Manchester United’s form, you can’t rule them out completely,” Mourinho said, adding: “The players will want to show quality, especially as they have sent off the Ten Hag.”
After a poor start to the Premier League season, the Red Devils sit 14th and the team’s poor results led to the sacking of Eric ten Haag on Monday.
Manchester United managers have moved quickly to replace ten Hags, with Ruben Amorim officially named on Friday afternoon. The Portuguese will remain in charge of Sporting until the next international break.
It means United will have Ruud Van Nistelrooy back in charge after he began his interim managerial duties with Wednesday night’s victory over Leicester in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
