“Maresca has to stop this style of play” — Former Chelsea Defender Advises The Coach
The error leading to goal by Robert Sanchez in the Premier League match against Brighton on 28th September when Chelsea tried to build up play from the back has been a great concern to some Chelsea fans and Legends.
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has warned Blues manager Enzo Maresca to rethink Chelsea’s style of play.
Frank Leboeuf told Enzo Maresca to stop the back-and-forth tactics. According to Leboeuf, Chelsea do not have the manpower to play at the back.
Leboeuf’s comments came after Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Brighton, in which goalkeeper Robert Sánchez conceded two Brighton goals due to an error.
“I have one piece of advice for the coaches: stop playing from the back, guys! You don’t have the personnel for that,” Leboeuf told ESPN
The big question is: will Maresca change his style of play? He is a highly tactical coach and we shall see what happens next.
