Sanchez Shift Blames To Three Chelsea Players After The Defeat To Liverpool
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez didn’t accept he was the cause of Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool. Instead, he criticized the Blues’ forwards for failing to capitalize on their opportunities.
It is the second time the Blues have lost in the Premier League game this season. The Reds won the match 2–1 to maintain their first spot on the EPL table.
Enzo Maresca’s men had the better start of the two teams but Levi Colwill fouled Curtis Jones in the 18-yard box in the 29th minute. Mohamed Salah converted the penalty to give Liverpool the win in the first half.
Chelsea responded in style when Nicholas Jackson equalized 3 minutes into the second half after being flagged for offside.
But unfortunately, just two minutes after the equalizer, Jones fired past an unconvincing Sanchez after Salah’s superb cross, to give the host the lead.
The visitors (Chelsea) struggled to find a goal as the increasingly tense game drew to a close, but Arne Sloat’s Chelsea side still maintained their advantage.
Robert Sanchez has also singled out Chelsea strikers Sancho, Noni, Palmer, and others for not capitalizing on their chances and opportunities at Anfield.
Sanchez in his post-match interview:
“Mistakes happen in football but the strikers should be questioned for not converting those chances… We’re All in the team”
It is the second loss in the premier league for the Blues this season and they play Newcastle next.
