“He Is Unbelievable,” — Mikel Arteta Takes A Review About Arsenal Player

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised the German International Kai Havertz’s “fantastic” footballing intelligence and work ethic following his side’s 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Arsenal dominated the Emirates after drawing 0-0 with Atalanta in their opening group stage. Havertz and substitute Bukayo Saka both scored in the first half to comfortably beat Luis Enrique’s middling PSG side.

Havertz scored the first goal with an audacious header past PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 20th minute of the first half.

The Germany international was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance in all areas and his goal was his sixth consecutive goal in all competitions for the Emirates.

“He is unbelievable,” Arteta told Amazon Prime’s Gabby Logan in his post-match interview.

“His football brain, the way he understands space, time, the way he brings the team together – he brings the team together, his work ethic is unbelievable and whenever he’s in it he’s a real threat. “He is one of the most important players for us at the moment.”

Arteta also expressed his satisfaction with Arsenal’s dominant first-half performance against PSG, who he described as having “different personalities” and difficult to deal with in possession.

“I am very happy,” continued the Spaniard. “We played against a big opponent, which made it difficult to beat them, especially with the ball. “But the second half was a different story, but we were very dominant in the first half.”

Arsenal’s efficiency in set-pieces in the game was key as Saka doubled the lead in the 35th minute with a free kick that dribbled past several PSG defenders.

Arteta praised his set-piece coaching staff, especially manager Nicolas Jover, for their efforts on the training ground.

“It’s an additional weapon for us.” Arteta said: “We have great players who take set pieces and a very physical team. Moments like this can change the game and if we dominate every phase of the game we will be a much better team.”
